I'm doing a remote mount on my '03. How does the STS kit ket the oil back the motor? I know it has an electric pump.I've got that, but where does it pump to? Drill and tap block? Oil pan? I'd rather not do either of those. Maybe a custom oil fil cap with a hose fitting?

If I remember correctly, it acts like a remote oil filter, so it taps off of the oil filter and returns to the same place.

^^ What he said.

There are oil filter "sandwhich" adapter that you can get that provide you in "in" and an "out" port. Moroso makes one I believe. A lot of racers get them and use them for oil coolers

The oil supply is from a 1/8" tee installed before the stock oil pressure sending unit on the block, next to the oil filter. Also, the return line has to be at zero pressure and STS provides a new oil fill cap drilled and tapped with a pneumatic quick-connector. While being convenient it has the problem of this oil getting aerated and sent through the breather line in large volumes. Dumping the oil into the oil pan above the oil level is the best choice.

I've use sandwich plates before, i don't remember there being an in port, only outs. I damn sure don't want foamy oil going through the motor. i don't mind drilling the pan, if I can yank it off in the truck. Anyone know? Can i pull the oil pan off, with the motor still in the truck?

well what you could do is get a telesopic magnet and stick it in the drain hole next to the area you will be drilling and it will catch any metal shavings that are produced while drilling... or just get that plate... dont think you want to pull the oil pan with the motor in the truck you might have to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up a bit to get it out... just a guess.

2WD yes, without lifting the engine. 4WD I don't know.
