Foreman: That's your MDS
Me: It can't be, we're in Tow/Haul
Foreman: That doesn't matter it's always active
Me: That's not right, MDS is disengaged in Tow/Haul
Foreman: You don't know what you're talking about and this is definitely not a TC issue. Besides, TC issues always turn on the check engine light and yours is off. There's nothing wrong with your transmission.
Me: What about the Star Case for faulty TC's
Foreman: I'll do some research.
That really means go away, we aren't going to help you. So I did. I have several dealerships in the area and will try somewhere else.

Tom
Sounds like you went to one of the dealerships I dealt with and will never again darken the door of for other such ignorant behavior. Good luck! You'll find the right dealership, just don't give up.

Isn't the new tranny really just the old tranny? What did you notice that was different?

At least my dealer admitted that MDS is off in Tow/Haul, and agreed that I had a weird noise. I gave him the SC number, which meant nothing to them.
His lead mechanic said they just cant' go and replace parts because of weird noises.

I will get no love from my dealer until Dodge admits there's a problem.

Go to the next closest dealer. All dealers are not created equal, they are only as good as their managers'.

Yes, I plan on hitting the next dealer in the spring. Hopefully Dodge has it sorted out by then.

The thing is, it is sorted out. The STAR case explains the symptoms and the fix for it.

Go to another dealer with the STAR case document and never go back to your original dealer because they sound like they are a bunch of jack-asses to say the least.

I just heard from my dealer that the truck is ready and the sound is gone according to them, I will be the judge of that.

The only bummer to this whole thing is they had to do the job twice because the first torque convertor they put in my truck made the noise worse than the original one they also confirmed that the part number of the removed convertor is 04736911AB which is apparently the new convertor.

At the present time i am happier than a pig in a pile....
I just picked up my truck at the dealer and the noise is completely gone.
They even had to remove the front pump assembly to inspect for debris from the torque convertor apparently if the convertor is left to long it will actually destroy the transmission.

Anyone have this noise in regular everyday drive? I have a rumble noise at the 14-17 hundred in tow haul only.
