I have had the frisbee/ring sliding along plastic sound several times. Seems every time I take it to the dealer, it goes away though. The weather seems to affect it most... As the temp stays within the 60's I hear it clear, other times, I have to really listen for it and then it is sporadic at best. I was kinda hoping for a TSB by now.... My truck was born on 04/20/2011.... hmmmm... hope the crew wasn't partaking in some herb on that day....

I am still uncertain. I tried to listen for it this morning and even thought I heard it a time or two. But it is just to hard to identify over the sound of my Magnaflow exhaust. Guess I will keep trying.

I had my TC replaced several months back on my 2010. Took several times to get the service people to hear the noise my TC was making. They had a Chrysler engineer come and drive the truck. The noise mine was making was more of a growl than a grind and was much more obvious while towing my boat. Actually had to tow my boat to the dealer and let them ride in it to finally agree that something was wrong. The first several times they drove it they also said it was normal. Really surprised that the same problem is occuring. I would think it would be cheaper to fix the problem rather than keep replacing TC's.

2011 5.7, nov/10 manufacture date. Noise started about 450 miles. TC replaced wednesday at approx 1390 miles. Noise is still there, just not as bad.

2011 Laramie 4x4 cc, Build date 1/11. No noises so far. 12500 kms. I've been listening closely after reading about this problem.

There has to be something that all of the problem TC's have in common, maybe start a thread where only people with the problem post, manufacture date, body style all that stuff that way we can quickly go through and find a patter... could be a good idea, I’m all about spread sheets lol

My truck just started having the noise yesterday at 1200 km. Took it to the dealer today and they have ordered a TC for it. I didn't have any problem at the dealer. They said it was the first time they had seen the letter from Chrysler about the problem.

It seems that everyone that has chimed in with the problem has the 5.7l. I haven't noticed anyone with the 4.7l saying that they have it but I could have just missed it somewhere. It seems that every body style, 4x4, and 4x2 is affected.

Just over 100 votes and we are still close on the poll results. Tells me this is an issue that requires further investigation. Thanks to everyone who has voted. Keep the opinions coming!

Ive got a 4.7L and no grind/growl. Is this a Hemi only issue?
