Default Torque Convertor It's Official

picked up my truck this morning "What A Difference" I really have to thank "RAMMIN" for his star case post,my truck is now like the difference between night and day. To all those suffering from what they call normal don't be BULLS****D by anyone. " IT'S NOT NORMAL" not only is the vibration gone but even driving it from 25 mph to 45 mph I don't feel a thing or here a thing, the Mds seems to come on quicker and even applying light throttle pressure it continues to stay on. I may be crazy but I'm not nuts. I also filled my fuel tank shortly after leaving the dealership hopped on to I-75 brought it up to 70 mph watched the MDS light come on and felt absolutely nothing either, another thing was my average mpg for some reason actually climbed to 22.5 mpg something it's never done in 1700 miles !! :smiley_thumbs _up:

BIGAL1903-

Glad you got it fixed and your happy. I bet you are looking for excuses just to drive the truck now! I felt the same way when mine was finally fixed.

You are correct in saying, don't be BS'd by the dealership if they tell you this noise is "Normal". It is not. As said earlier on this thread, the noise is a result of a defective part. In this case, it is the torque converter.

To anyone having this issue, be persistent. If the dealership won't help, get Chrysler Customer Care involved. You paid a lot of money for your truck and you deserve to have it free of known defective parts.

4,700 miles on a 2011 Sport. Started noticing the noise at about 2,500 miles. Calling the dealership in the morning with Star Case info and will schedule an appt for the official diagnosis. Wish me luck!

Faxed copy of Rammin88's pic of the Star Case info. Dealer called today and said they would just order new TC and would call when parts came in...no need to bring it in for a diagnosis.

Let's hope the actual repair goes as smoothly. Thanks Rammin!

Just picked my 2011 CC 1500 up and am reading this thread with interest. Is there a manufacturing cut off date where they went over to the "proper" TC? I have to try and figure out the manufacture date on mine, but with 500 mi on the clock, just waiting for the vibes to start. Has there been any word from Dodge about a general recall, they have to be getting good at doing the swaps by now.

I have a little over 16,000 miles and no noise or problems from mine, and I have a factory single exhaust so I would definitely hear it. Built in 5/10

I saw someone comparing quality to other brands but every brands has it's issues. From my experience I will never own a Toyota again!

I'd like to know too. I have a feeling there is...looks like most of the ones with problems are trucks built in early 2011 based on scanning through this thread. You can email Dodge and request a build sheet, the build date will be included on that.

had my TQ replaced last week but have not received my truck back.
the rearview camara was flawed from day one, they have been experimenting with( connections, polarity, replaced camara, replaced radio, chrysler says to replace the three harneses. the first one(was on back order for three weeks) came in thursday(runs form tailgate to radio) didn't correct problem.
now they have ordered the second harness.

But here comes the really good part. I complained about a dash rattle since it was in the shop. well they found out that the whole dash was defective. a new dash has been ordered. the interior of my truck looks like it just started on the assembly line, nothing but front seats an fire wall.

In frustration over the rearview camara ordeal, i started the lemon law process. now chrysler is calling twice a week, updating me on progress. four attempts sofar to fix backup camara.
