is this real life?

was completely unaware of this. i love the stock exhaust and don't want to mess with it much, not looking to buy a magnaflow or anything like that. but if the Sport trim has a more aggressive stock sound i'd love to add this to my Big Horn. has anyone done this?
It would be easier/cheaper(maybe)/better performing/better mpg/better sounding if you just swapped to an aftermarket muffler. You can get a quieter magnaflow or other brand muffler, most get either a 14" or 18", but I think they also have like 24" or something, that wouldn't be very loud, maybe not louder than stock...

To answer your question though I don't see why you couldn't take the smaller muffler off another truck to put on yours, but you may have to add a foot or two of pipe to make up the difference...

2011 exhaust on my longhorn is way to quiet. I grew up around loud toys though.

Which would be the equivalent Magnaflow's muffler (sound wise) to the stock 2012 Sport stock muffler? I really like how quiet is the cabin while cruising with the stock muffler and I'm wondering if there would be any real advantage to mod with and after market muffler.

The advantage would be more power, and better sound but that's opinion based. I'd say the 18" or 22"(or whatever it is) magnaflow would be close to stock loudness at cruise rpm's.

If you replace the muffler you should replace the Y pipe as it is very restrictive. I put a new Y pipe and midpipe with Magnaflow Muffler on my SLT BigHorn and it has a little more growl when idling but is almost the same as stock in the cab when cruising. It will bark at you if you hit the loud pedal though.

What size of muffler did you go with?
