actually where you live and where the truck has been does make a difference with vehicle rust, but the biggest factor is how well you wash your vehicle. make sure your getting under the vehicle in all of the nooks and crannies. this is where road salt and other elements that cause rust get stuck and rust out your truck.

I agree. In all honesty, I'm horrible at washing my truck. I've had it 2 years in November and I think she's had... TWO baths... I know, I know: BAD TRUCK DADDY!! I guess maybe if it were a NEW rig, I'd be more adamant at washing her, but she IS a truck. I do know that my truck originated in Indiana, so that was the initial start of the problem... Hopefully though I can get it stopped before I'm replacing the entire bedside...

Mine gets washed quite often, plus you can't wash out the inside of the rear wheel well (the inside part of the wheel well) so it really doesn't matter if you wash daily or not at all. It's a design flaw that dodge should cover but I'm dreaming.

I have some rust in the bed floor, and on the to of the bed rails where my spoiler was. I just ordered a rust stop kit. Looking forward to sand and cleaning this up, I need to have this truck a long time.
