Default Side cowl stripes?

So I think Ive given up on getting a new hood for my truck. I really wanted a carbon sport hood, but Im not dealing with pins/Dzus rails on a DD so stock it is.

Ive been looking and the center cowl is a good size on our trucks and was wondering has anyone ever painted the sides of the cowl black to make it seem a little taller?

Kinda like this? [obviously take the linebreak out between the two]

I think i towuld be cool and tie in a lot of the black on my truck that I cant/wont paint

Im thinking of masking it off and trying it with plastidip first just to see before I go and spend the $$ to have it done unless someone has done it and can show me pictures

I would think about it. I plan on matte black wheels when the time comes and would want matte black stripes i think.

The matte white would be pretty cool though. Maybe have to try one side one way and the other side another

They sell stickers on ebay for this. May want to check it out they have pics.

Here's a close idea to what you want:

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKIGN!!!

i just dont like how they dont go all the way back though, that would bother me i think...

I can get vinyl through work in any shape/size/cut i want, so I think i would end up that route anyway oncei decided to do this.

Maybe i could buy those and have them duplicated and have them extended it another 1"

I personally don't like vinyl, but it's up to you. If I was serious about it, I'd find a good, reasonable paint/airbrush type place that I could bring the hood to and have them scuff it, mask it, spray it, then re clear the entire hood. I bet that wouldn't be too crazy expensive.

I could also do that through work. I think i would want to wait to have it permanent till i got my wheels and made sure i stayed with the matte black theme for the trim

I had similar ideas when I first go my truck, and a friend said they'd airbrush some lettering for me for like $60 or something, but I ended up pulling away from the idea...

That's why I like Vinyl, you can always remove it if you decide later it wasn't such a great idea lol.

I was almost ready to paint my charger when I couldn't find anyone to Vinyl it the way I wanted.. glad I didn't.
