Default My Mufflex 18 review

Well finally broke down and got the 18" Mufflex kit. Install took little less than 2 hours here are my thoughts:

1. Install was a lot easier then I envisioned. Hardest part is definitely
removing old exhaust. Everything fit as advertised. Aligning tips was a
little tricky but would've been a lot easier if I had someone helping me.
2. The 18 is SIGNIFICANTLY louder than most reviews I have read made me believe.
3. Sounds nice while cruising between 65-75 MPH, very little in cab noise.
However get on the throttle just a bit and she starts barking. A little
more cab noise than I was hoping for.
4. MDS HAS to be turned off or you get an irritating reverb in the cab when MDS kicks in. It is quite annoying for sure.
5. Not the kit to get unless your wife is into the louder exhaust thing. You're not going to "sneak" this one in on her!

All in all I was impressed with the material, fit, and finish. Wishing I went with the 24. Definitely one of the louder exhausts I have installed on a
vehicle and I have installed them all Flowmaster, Borla, Magnaflow,
Gibson, Volant just to name a few. Not the exhaust to get if you shuttle the family around in the truck.

Thanks for the review, I had debating on the Mufflex 18, now I know the wife will notice, thanks for the heads up

I'd hating to be hauling the fam around on a camping trip with the trailer and everybody complaining about the sound...but I would love it

I went with the 24" & have been very happy. It is much louder than I expected after reading posts from people that claim it isn't any louder than stock. Very happy with my choice.

Great review, thank you for that. And it confirms my choice of a 24" version (the 1500 is the wife's truck) and no resonators. So thanks for that too!

I've had the 24" for months now. It is the perfect choice for our family especially since it's my wifes daily driver. She was fine the way it was, but did not mind the extra sound from this 24". And it's definately more than the Sprot model puts out, but not as strong as the 18". Keep in mind, I deleted my resonators too.

Just order the part from Mufflex. I did that and it came with everything you need to put the new muffler in there. What an awesome experience.

I agree just buy the kit from mufflex everything you need is in the box, except for your 2 hours of work time and your arm power to remove the old muffler

I have the mufflex 24" and no resonators + k&n air intake on my 2009 sport and its loud enough , any louder would been to much fo me

great kit

I will agree on the statement that the 18" muffler is definately louder than alot of the reviews suggest. I had the 18" muffler welded in along with the Magnaflow Y-Pipe and it was significantly louder than I anticipated, although it did change to a deeper/not as loud tone after driving it for 2 weeks or so. DEFINATELY will not be one you could slip by the significant other I don't mind the 18" noise level but the wife doesn't care for it.
