I agree with Mr Lopar... vaccum leak, lotsa places for it to leak from, too. mine was the lines attached to the tranny crossmember, more likely somewhere else, tho. is your climate control defaulted to defrost? that could be another possibility, theres vaccum all over the place under the hood... It's been said that if you look down your throttle plates, with them wide open, and you see oily film, To go get drunk and cry in a beer. I am not at all looking forward to replacing that intake gasket set, however, they are cheap on ebay. The fact that theres about 150 sellers of them on ebay is not a good thing... get brand name, and don't be fooled by chinese fake brand names, this is one job I wouldn't want to do twice. My local auto parts stores are selling some real garbage these days, too... Hopefully, you won't have to change them... I'll bet it's over $600 to get a proper shop to change em, plus parts...

If you are using Shell gas, try Chevron or anything else. EVERY car I have used Shell in has pinged.

Although I'd carefully check your vacum hoses and even your pcv valve hose for cracks...My guess is the plenum gasket. Do you use any oil between changes?

Intake belly pan gasket is shot. That causes a huge vacuum leak.
