Default Approved fender flare fix

When I picked my new truck up from the dealer, the driver side fender flare was already peeling. Took it back and the dealer epoxied the flare on. I was expecting them to reapply 2 sided tape.
Is this the factory approved fix?

I'd be pissed if they epoxied something directly on my paint! The factory fender flares are very much like badges and other 'stickers', they should stay there for as long as you want them there and come off with a little concerted effort. Epoxy doesn't fit that description, IMHO.

I don't think that would be an "approved" fix, as the flares don't come with epoxy to install them in the first place. I hope you like the flares and they didn't screw up your paint.

I would keep a calm head and head back to the dealer and explain what you want. I don't think that's an approved method of fixing it. It should have been compleatly removed and new tape applied, and it that did not work a complete flare replacement. They do come pre painted on your color so don't let them tell you they have to be painted. The paint will just peel/chip off if not done correctly which is usually the case too. You can bet that's what they billed back for warranty work vs. the 1.00 tube of crazy glue. You have to watch these idiots with eyes on the back of your head.

They didn't get any on the paint, but now I don't see how you could ever remove the flare without damaging the paint.
I am going to get in touch with Chrysler Canada and see what they have to say.
Thanks for the input.

^^^^ I agree 100% with CBR Dude's assessment. I purchased the factory flares and had them colour matched. They come with double sided tape and just using epoxy will cause problems with the paint under the attachement point should you ever want to remove them. And yes,"You have to watch these idiots with eyes on the back of your head".
