Default N00b with a odd problem. Running while cold

Hello all! First thread, first day here, first Dodge.....you get the idea.

Anyway, this past Sunday I traded my 82 Chevy K10 that I had sitting around (project that I never got to) for a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2l. It has a whooping 235,*** miles on the clock but runs amazingly well. The truck is 100% stock.

Now the problem I'm having (which isn't really a problem yet) is when I first start the truck, I have to wait for it to get to +130* before I can drive it or else it stalls. Well since I've owned it this has happened once. My question is, is this a common problem with these motors or should I be worried?

Also I have a 24 foot flatbed trailer I'm planning on pulling with my XJ to the trails with. I know this isn't the ideal truck for that, but its all I got for now. So I was thinking about some moar power parts. My list so far that I've thrown together with out much research is:

CAI
Headers and full exhaust
Port the Tb because It looks like I can get much better airflow outta it
I see summit has an aftermarket intake mainfold - anyone try this?

Thats about it so far. Any ideas out there? Good idea, bad idea, you're a damn fool for trying to get moar power outta this motor..... Just be nice, its my first ram.

never heard of the problem your having, but your truck is more then enought to pull your jeep on a trailer. i've pulled my chrysler 5th avenue (place car in my sig) with a bunch of added extra wieght no problem.

you can get a CAI, headers from summit for $230 that will bolt up to the factory y-pipe, jegs sells a catless y-pipe that bolts to the factory manifolds, add em together and you got a nice free flowin exhaust, theres a few places that sell ports throttle bodies (hughes, bbk, macini racing, ect)

i suggest lookin at hughes website if you really wanna hop up your truck. whenever i get the money i would like to order up their 390 strocker kit and top end kit

Id clean throttle body out and check asi motor plunger for the cold start prob. Check the 5.2 mod section, throttle body mod seems to do well.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna start with the basic this weekend (plugs, wires, clean everything up a bit, TB mod, and an oil change) and see where she sits after that.
