I had the same reaction on mine, I had same idea about if they get messed up cheap to replace. One thing to remember is that all of that good MPG is coming from things like this. They look pretty good I am just upset that I paid so much money and then got plastic rims.

I heard from someone at Dodge that they make them that way #1 for weight, most important they are insulated from heat created by the tires and brakes, keeps them clean from brake dust.

OK so that I have now resigned myself to the fact that they are plastic, and they still look great, what is the best way to keep them looking great. What are you guys using to keep them looking good. Any special cleaners other than soap and water? Any cleaners to stay away from?

I clean mine with Windex and follow up with a spray detailer (Meguire's).

This is something I learned a long time ago from my father-in-law: apply an even coat of car wax to the rims. Plastic or steel (aluminium); the wheels are still chrome and will repel dust better. And the wax makes them shine!

LOL,, that was my same reaction when I bought my truck last december, but I really like them, they look as good as the day I bought the truck and I now have 30k miles on them, just wax them a time or two each year and keep them clean. They actually clean up easier than most other wheels I have had on other vehicles. As you will find out, most 20"+ (not all) are the plastic clad wheels, unless you wanna spend a fortune on some super heavy chrome clad over steel or aluminum. IMO they hold up better to rock chips, etc.

I thought about not putting this out there because I may look like an a##%^&* but did no one do their research when looking for their truck? when I was looking and saw chrome clad in the book I had no clue what it meant so the powers of google helped me out and I knew that I would not pay that much for those rims. they look nice don't get me wrong, but they are to expensive for plastic

$400 doesn't seem all that bad me for an upgrade to an aluminum 20"x9" wheel even from the 20"x8" wheel. Not to mention the jump from a 265 to a 275. IMO even though theyre chrome clad, there isn't a nicer styled 20" wheel out there let alone at $100 a wheel and tire

The wheels on my ST are real chrome. Of course they are also 17x8 instead of 20".
