Default any words of encouragement?

So i joined the ram family on tuesday. Bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Outdoorsman.

Today on my way home the MIL light flashed twice and went off... drove home.. decided to go test drive it before calling service... turned onto a road 3 minutes into the drive and engine completely went off, and it stated SERVICE 4WD... wouldnt start, wouldnt even turn over. waited few minutes.. started drove back home... went off again... will run for bit turn off and state SERVICE 4wd.

Has anyone expierence this? has 150 miles on it :/

Sad :/

Disappointing and aggravating, I agree, in spite of the fact in can be repaired easily.

While it is in the shop, you should talk with the Service Manager, and make sure they go through all of the TSBs, STARs, etc., for the vehicle, to flash/update/replace everything that hasn't already been done. Ask about any radio updates that could be applicable.

I got my vehicle home and within a few hundred miles received a notice from Dodge to bring the truck in to fix the rear differential (there are a number of threads on this). An unnecessary hassle point, in my opinion.

I'm just guessing here but it sounds like a faulty sensor.

They will know how to fix it.

It's unusual but not unknown for some electronics to fail quickly after being turned on for the first few times.

There is a Dealer Technical Service Bullieten on that, you just need to get your ECU flashed.

The fact that it went off by its self would indicate a faulty reading/connection had it came on flashed and stayed on I would be concerned, but since you said it went off by its self I would think something wasn’t right. Hopefully a reflash will cure it.
