Well, this might as well be my first post since its the reason I haven't checked in at the newbie section. Mine was hit 2 days after delivery. Waiting on insurance to try and rip us off. Dent between the cab and bed. Not bad, but still makes you sick. The wife and I are getting used to it. Every dodge we've had, someone has hit it. Sorry for you luck and others. I guess it happens more than you think. I'm gonna check in over on the newbie side with some pics.

Well hello and welcome to the Z. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I hear ya about insurance, biggest scam of all time, you give them tons of money and then when you have a little thing like this your SOL. Dents are ugly and effect "Pride of Ownership" not to mention resale value. I hope you can get it fixed up and please post up some pics of your ride.

You are definitely right about that not to mention just the aggravation of it. I'd at least let someone look at it and see what they say but good luck!

Check and see if they have a Bumper Man in your area....I had the exact same thing happen...and looked close and my bumper was slighty out of line so I'm going suppose to meet the Bumper Man this week to see about getting it fixed.

sorry to hear man. I was at physical therapy when I first got to Tucson, maybe about two months and someone bumped my truck and pulled a little paint off and when I started heading toward him to say something, he pulled off!!!

Thanks, that was a good tip but they don't appear to have any locations north of the border. I now think that the dent could have came from someones door. I remember being parked on an angle with cars parked behind me with the doors facing my rear bumper. So I'm wondering how thick the metal on these bumpers are. Could someone banging their door into my bumper make that dent ? If so maybe I can work most of it out. I checked and I can get to the spot from behind.

They would have to hit pretty hard to make a dent.

***** Begin Thread Jack *****
Today I got a scuff in the clearcoat on my passenger front fender by a car door in a parking lot, while I was sitting in the truck. The dork hit my truck 3 times with the door. I got out and kicked his car, and he came unglued on me. All I said was "Let me see if I have this right; It's OK for you to hit my truck 3 times with a piece of metal and leave a 5" long scratch on my fender, but it's not OK of me to hit your car with my soft rubber sole shoe leaving a bit of dust on your bumper". He suggested that I was out of line, and got his wife to call the police.

The police came, listened to their rant, took my statement, and they are paying to have my truck buffed/painted/whatever is required to bring it back to 100% perfect condition, and are doing so outside of insurance as one more insurance claim will cost him his drivers license.

The police officer suggest that if I was not completely happy with how it was handled then he would press the charges to force insurance involvement, and further explained to the guy that I would be responsible for wiping the dust off his bumper (which I did on the spot to complete my requirement in the police officer's witness.)

Like the guy in the body shop said, just buff it with a good cloth for 2 minutes and it'll be fine. And I said, I know, but I'm not paying for it, so you do it....and "Make it Perfect!". So they polished out the scuff.....and 7 more in various places around the truck. Cost the dork $175 for being a jerk!

The message here is very clear. If you want to be a jerk and pick on a shiny clean tastefully modded Black truck, don't call the police and get the one officer that not only likes Black Trucks, but admits to (not in front of them) watching and wanting one just like the one you dissed.

Sorry for Jacking your thread Randy, but I figured you of all people would get a little enjoyment out of this. Been an interesting day, and my truck looks better know than it did when I got up this morning.

***** End Thread Jack *****

Before you attack it from behind, talk to someone in a good body shop, and ask them if what you are about to do has 'Risk' written all over it, or if it sounds like a completely doable thing. Most good body shops aren't overly interested fixing something that small, so will likely offer advise/suggestions.

Good Luck, and keep us posted.

Brad you are great at telling stories I enjoy reading. I also love hearing when JACKA$$$s get what they deserve. I am amazed at how insensitive people are with other peoples property especially when there cool black trucks . Good advice on checking with a body shop first, thanks for that. Glad your truck is okay considering all the troubles you just went through.

God I hate people that have no respect for other peoples property. So far so good with my truck not getting hit except my trailer hitch drop. Love that thing, saves my rear bumper and seems to do pretty good damage to those who hits it.

I recently had the same unfortunate thing happen to my Challenger SRT8. Somebody hit the front bumper cover and put a crease in it from where the bumper cover rolls down from the top and indented the front part of the bumper.

I can tell it was a front license plate because you can see the indentation from it on the smooth side of the bumper.

Can't fix it so now it will take a new bumper cover, complete stripe kit tint and blend with a cost of $1400.

Never fails to have some ignorant azz to ruin your day. Nice car let me hit for good measure and drive away in there POS Pinto Wagon never to be seen again.
