Default Debadging Goo/ update with mods

Well after getting impatient waiting for my Bilstein 5100's to come in the mail (1 day shipping, they'll be here this afternoon) I decided to undertake the project of dbadging my truck. I read a few things online and ended up using a hair dryer to heat up the badges (its only 5C here th'is morning) then 40lb fishing line to peel them off. I then used a plastic 1.5" puddy knife to peel the heavy black tape off. The puddy knife works well provided you are very careful with it and I did not scratch the truck with it. I then used some automotive goo and tar remover to attempt to get the sticky glue off. Here lies the problem, that sh*t does not want to come off. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and I can still see it. I only have today to finish the project as I go away to work for 2 weeks tomorrow so ordering that 3m magic eraser pad is out of the question. Any ideas? I searched at crappy tire (canadian store) for something to polish it with and came up empty. I would like to finish this project today if possible. I'll post up some pics of the truck debadged with the bilsteins on and my N-fab nerf bars if I can get it all done today.

Do you have piece of the tape still on or just the residue? IDK what sort of auto/home improvement stores you have but if its just the residue get a can of GooGone, a little big of rubbing and the left of residue comes right off.

If you have pieces of the foam tape still there 3M makes an aerosol version of their earaser thing. Spray it on and wipe everything off basically.

I used some of those little square alcohol pads you can buy at a drug store.
Whatever you use make sure to wax the area afterwards

thanks, maybe i'll make a trip to home depot today and see if I can find any of that 3m aerosol spray stuff since the goo gone just didn't seem to cut it for me. I just hate driving around in a partically done truck, makes me feel self concious

well my problem is solved, I took it to a local shop in town and got them to finish off the job for me for free... well I shouldn't say free cause it cost more then I was expecting to pay today. When I get the truck back it'll be debadged, tinted 5% over factory on the back 3, 35% on the front two, my bilsteins will be thrown on as well as my N-fab side steps. I think I have a problem...just don't tell my woman cause she doesn't get any of it haha

When she finds out, and she will, you are in trouble! LOL

I used the 3M adhesive remover. It worked great. DO NOT USE THE MAGIC ERASER PADS!!! Better if you just took some sandpaper to the truck. An eraser wheel is what you want.

I bought a truck a couple of weeks ago and I removed the dealer sticker from the tailgate. The 3m adhesive remover easily removed double sided tape residual. 3m adhesive remover is a great product for your detailing toolbox. It will also take off road tar that will not wash off but you will to reapply wax over the area where it was used.
