Man, im having trouble finding anyone in town that knows what they are doing. I have talked to 3 shops and they act like im insane. They think my motor will blow. One guy wanted to put a 3.73 in it. I told him dodge dont use those.

I have 32" tall tires. I dont tow anything, so i think 3.92 is good for me. But when these shops act like that is crazy, it makes me think they dont know what they are doing. They all worry about the speedometer to. And i tell them they dont have to worry about it. Damn

I think there is actually aftermarket options for 3.73. 3.92 would be better though, and 4.10 even better, 4.56 may be too much for you. Keep hunting for a good shop, it may take you a little longer up front but will save you time and money down the road.

Yup. Those three shops sound scary to me. Keep looking and drive a bit if you have to. Properly set gears will not make noise as long as they are quality gears.

I agree.

The Mopar Gears (If they are OEM Gears) will be almost drop-in. They will take very little variation from the factory shims. Thats the reason most shops get them right. They have to be set up this way. How long do you think the factory wants to take to set-up the rear ends.

The shops have a tendency to not do as well with aftermarket gears because they take a good bit of setup and the techs have a tendency to say "close enough".

I had used ebay 4.10 gears put in my old Mustang and they were quieter than the factory 3.55's. Up until the 4.10's were installed I didnt even know the 3.55's made any noise.

Thats the difference a good tech who is a perfectionist makes. Hes a bit expensive. Charged me two six-packs of good beer but he was worth it! What can I say? Its good to have friends.

Default Gear change?

These Boys give good advice....4.10, factory gears, properly set-up, is the winning package. Many have their favorite style. LSD unit.

I am ok, with the factory style LSD.

Why not ask around, possibly have a Dodge Service Tech (Drive Line) install the gears, as a side job. Many Tech's wrench at home, or on their own projects........Good Luck.
