Default Rock solid steering bushing question

Everthing has been replaced or checked out good on the front suspension, but there's a bit of give in the steering. I can move the wheel up and down a little bit and there's a little bit of clunk felt in the wheel when I make a sharp turn or hard stop. I thought the Rock Solid bushing might solve this, so I performed their stated check. I grabbed the spring below the top bushing and pulled it side to side. The only movement I felt was the spring itself giving a little from side to side. So, should I replace the bushing, or is that just a waste? It's a 96 Ram 4x4 with almost 103,000.
