If you get the wires in the proper locations and have a good cap and rotor and installed properly, it should run fine, if that was the issue.

I used to get on the radiator support on my knees and lean into the engine bay and use the engine to hold myself up while I worked on my old truck.

Yea I believe that's what the problem is.I was messing with it last night and I guess not being able to see all that well is what made it a whole lot harder.I'm gonna tackle it tomorrow and hope I'll get better results.I never changed a rotor before is it hard? I would guess that it just pops off and on but not too sure. Also thanks for the advice on how to get to it better I'm gonna try how you said hopefully Ill be able to access it much better than I was last night. It sure was a mission...I use to have a late 80's chevy silverado and changed out the distributor but you have was more room in engine bay.I actually sat inside and did it.But how dodge jammed it all the way in the back just plain sucks lol...

Yeah they shove a lot in the engine bay now a days...the rotor is very easy, like you said just pulls off. Make note of the way it's pointing (I think it's possible to install them 180 degrees off)

Well looks like I got it figured out.I went out last night and got a new cap and rotor.I just took all the wires off and got the cap out which was so much easier without all the wires in the way.I put the new rotor and cap on first then started with the number 1 cylinder and just went cylinder by cylinder and got it figured out on the first shot.So definately got a wire crossed the other night. It purrs like a kitten now.It still has a little vibration issue somewhere when I rev it up so will have to track that down issue, but other than that I'm just glad it was'nt a blown head gasket or motor...
