The chrome piece isn't replaceable. It's epoxied on and the chrome piece isn't available as a separate replacement part tot he best of my knowledge. If she totals a rim, it'll cost a whole new wheel.

I didn't notice either, until I first washed it and my knuckel hit the rim. They look good though!

I even have the factory aluminum rims that come on the big horn and when i bought it they had plastic chrome covers that pop on and off, i kinda liked it, kept brake dust off the aluminum rims and the covers keep most of the brake dust from getting on the outside of the cover so it is super easy to clean and maintain. I popped them off and plasti-dipped them not long ago and love the look. I have heard plasti-dip turns brown from brake dust but since the covers are keeping it away from the outside no issues so far!

I found out they were faux chrome on this site...still waiting for the truck to arrive from Saltillo, Mexico..I do not mind so much as I wanted the 20x9 size.

I would like some after market SRT wheels but they do not make polished aluminum 20x9's...only 22x9. I dunno I may go with the chrome SRT 20x9's.

I researched for about a month, reading countless threads on the RAM before I committed to buying. So yes, I knew about the chrome clad wheels. I even had a close look at them at the dealer and decided I liked them. They're easy to maintain and a good choice for a winter rim.

Here is something I found out.. was detailing the wife's 2008 Charger rt/rt she has the 20" Crome clad wheels.. MOPAR crome cleaner/ploish works great on these wheels and is cheeper at the dealer ( make friends with your parts guy) then stuff at auto Zone. We run police wheels in the winter with ICE & SNOW tires so her rims are summer only. Had the 20" on my 2008 Big Horn looked as good the day I traded her as the day she left the dealership. my new 2011 ram has the painted 20" like those too.

I knew they were plastic before I bought the truck. I've had a couple of guys at work ask me "did you know those wheels aren't real chrome ?" my answer "yes, and I don't care, they look good don't they ?". Then I tell them that everyone does it now, even their beloved Ford uses the chrome clad look on the F-150.
