My initial thought was cheesy fake plastic chrome, but they look so good on my second gen, I can't complain. I wrapped em' in 33" toyos. The only issue I could see would be hardcore wheelin, which I probably won't do. Then I would go with some 16-17" steelies and 35's...and probably alot smaller truck!

im actually a little mad about it only for the fact i can never get the water spots to come completely off. brake dust shield doesn't want to stick to the rim either which can be very annoying

Try Windex glass cleaner for the water spots.

I researched my '10 bighorn for over a year. The dealership in my town finally got in a black metallic flake with all the trimmings. I liked certain options and rims appeared chrome in all the literature and I never questioned it. Like most however, I was roped as well. Even one of my car buddies said, "Wow awesome chrome rims." He felt like a fool when I finally told him they were plastic. All-in-all I would still have bought it because of the 0 down, 0% interest at the time. Thats why we have after market rim dealers. I just feel a little roped though.

Definitely the ticket. Windex style glass cleaner did the trick on the brake dust and water spots. No hard rubbing required, either. For extreme buildup after a period of neglect, Bleche-White wheel/tire cleaner might be necessary. A little wax after cleaning keeps them cleaner longer and easier to wipe down the next time.

Are the older "sunflower" wheels clad wheels also? I have a couple spots were, what I thought was clear coat flaking. And would explain why all the chrome cleaners I try don't work any better than soap and water.... I was told by a salesman that they were known for the flaking but dodge wouldn't do anything even while they were covered under warranty.
