Smile Adhesive removal

I have a 2010 TRX4 and damaged the left front fender flare. Little did I know that it is attached to the fender not only by screws, but also adhesive tape. Any ideas on how to get this tape and adhesive off safely without damaging the paint? I bought 3M adhesive remover (spray) tonight. Gonna try that tomm. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks-

I've used the 3M adhesive remover with great results.Used a heat gun on low to warm up the tape, peeled it off then used the 3M to remove the remaining adhesive, try doing a search on debadging some great info.....Rob

just debadged my truck and was AMAZED at the amount adhesive behind the emblems, little heat, lots of goo gone and plenty of elbow grease.

i agree with all the above methods iv always used goo gone with some elbow grease and usually got it all off so you should be fine with the 3m remover stuff as long as you heat it up a lil bit

I use a product called goo-gone. You can get it at any auto parts/drug store/Walmart. Also, lamp oil works too.

Good luck.

3M adhesive remover won't hurt the paint. Some supposedly say you can dull the finish by rubbing too hard, but I haven't had this happen. I've used PB Blaster adhesive remover, it's even better. In my experience goo gone has been worthless, it loosens stuff up just enough to make a huge mess and that's all...
