2500 is high, however it IS the price of the factory NAV upgrades. For years, from almost every company, the factory touchscreen/navigation prices have been AT LEAST 1800 (and thats the cheapest i've seen). I was just researching the REC NAV for my truck, and it STILL sells for 2400 bucks on sites i've found.

It's not specifically your dealer that's jacking up the price, it's Dodge altogether. It's nothing that Chevy and Ford doesn't do either, people have paid it, so they've charged it. I would also recommend going aftermarket, unless you search around for used OEM ones, which you can normally find a decent deal on.

Personally, I love my Alpine speakers and 730N head unit. How much something sucks is all relative, I'm no huge audiophile and I don't go around bumping my music for the whole neighborhood to hear, so I think its a solid setup that sounds great for playing music at normal levels.

I have the touchscreen 430 that came with my sport. Wanted the Alpine system but unless I ordered, they seemed be tough to come by. Any ways....very happy with the sounds in the truck, and when the kids aren't in the truck I do have a tendency to crank up the tunes.

$2500 seems high....very high. Almost seem to think you can buy the touchscreen unit for less than 1k. One of the things I really wanted in this truck was the touchscreen and I think once you get it you'll be happy but at what cost...all depends. Other than having a factory unit, you could go to just about any car audio shop and easily get a very high end unit, possibly touchscreen, amps, high end speakers, and maybe even a sub for that price. Might be worth your time to hit a car audio place for giggles if you haven't taken delivery. Keep us posted.

I got navigation and alpine system and am happy with it. However 2500 seems nuts. That's a crazy after. Market system for that cash

2500 would get you a crazy good after market with way better speakers.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

It may seem high.

If I needed to replace my REC/NAV unit, it would cost me $2100 for that head unit.

the deal isn't over until you take delivery! negotiate the price of that unit, i'm sure they have some room between the cost of truck to bring down the cost.
