Default Exhaust question

I have 2011 ram sport with the duel exhaust. I have put on the magnaflow muffler. sounds good. I was thinking on taking the two resonators off near the tips. Will cost around $60. Question is, is it worth it? Will I get much more sound? Will it hurt anything?

You should get more sound, check youtube for examples, and no it will not hurt anything. You MIGHT get a drone from what others have reported by removing them when cruising at highway speeds and the MDS active.

It will get louder and it won't hurt anything except your ears when the truck shifts to MDS mode. Then the drone will make your teeth itch and the hair on your head stand on end...

I'd leave them on too. I tried mine without them and there wasn't much difference in performance or sound...UNTIL MDS kicked in. Then it sounds like a fart can on a Honda. The resonator just mellows out the exhaust tone a little.

I have to disagree with the above posts. I have went through 3 different exhaust modifications with this truck and here is my opinion. My first exhaust work was a flowmaster single in dual out two chamber muffler (with resignators installed) and it was an O.k. sound, but I wanted a tad louder. Had the resignators taken off and it got a little louder but not by that much and the drone that everyone is talking about was not noticable with my setup. Maybe my ears aren't as keen as the others, but with the resignators off it wasn't bad at all and it didn't make my teeth itch and the hair on your head stand on end as mentioned above...lol. At this point it still wasn't quite loud enough so, my current setup is a true dual with two magnaflow strait through mufflers (no resignators) and it sounds awesome. It's not crazy loud by any means, but it does have a very nice deep growl with a little drone, but honestly it does not bother me at all. Just my .02...good luck!

Resonators don't hurt performance hardly at all(it's negligible). Also, they don't really "muffle" the sound, the just tone it down to keep resonance down, so you will barely pick up any sound or performance, but will pick up a good bit of drone. My vote is to keep the resonators.

+1...Didn't notice much difference from having a Flowmaster 40 and resonators on to having them removed, just got a tad bit louder.

Well I am using Thrush Glasspacks on mine, so yeah, it is more noticeable. Chambered mufflers just don't do it for me.
