That was a statement, not a question, putting a question mark at the end doesn't make it a question

It will likely have some drone to it without a resonator, but everyone hears differently and has different tolerance levels for "normal" or "acceptable" for that stuff.

I installed the Magnaflow cat back system which removes the resonators. At first, the drone was not bad at all. However, once the packing in the muffler burned off after about 3,000 miles, the drone has become much worse and I have had a few passengers complain. I plan add the resonators back in.

I put in the Magnaflow mufflers and took out the resonators added two new longer chrome tips and it looks and sounds great, I'm not reporting a lot of drone but I don't do a lot of highway miles.

I went the Borla route and left the resonators on. Sounds great, but at 1500-1900 RPM, the drone is pretty fierce. Unfortunately that's right about 70mph. I'm now forced to exceed the speed limit on a regular basis. I refuse to admit by how much.

I didn't think that the 2006's had MDS on them, but I would dump it at the rear axle and call it done. That is what I did to my 2007. You will like it but your neighbors won't. I know my neighbors didn't.

I guess I have a question. Since someone stated that the resonator does not affect performance does that mean its a streight through design. Is a single stage muffler, just smaller. I want to remove mine just to give the exhauset better flow with my megnaflow muffler, but I dont want to hack the exhaust any more than it is at this point. I like my vehicles lound and dont care about drone, but if there is no benefit I was going to leave it on there. The worst drone I ever heard was my mustang with stinger mufflers, but the exhaust is a lot closer to the driver than in a Ram.

I took mine to an exhaust shop and had them put in an 18" magnaflow with 2.5 pipes and 4" double walled tips. There is a slight drone when the MDS kicks in, which isn't very often. Its nothing my kicker system can't drowned out. I guess its just something some people don't mind and some do. I had a beretta with a glasspack in high school, so this little amount of droning doesn't phase me :LOL

Keep the resonators

Called the local shop that originally installed my MF cat back. They estimated $100 to put the resonators back in and said it should definitely reduce the drone. Part of me hates to do it but as long as I still have the awesome sound at WOT, I'm good.

My first exhaust work was a flowmaster single in dual out two chamber muffler (with resignators installed) and it was an O.k. sound, but I wanted a tad louder. Had the resignators taken off and it got a little louder but not by that much and the drone that everyone is talking about was not noticable with my setup. Maybe my ears aren't as keen as the others, but with the resignators off it wasn't bad at all and it didn't make my teeth itch and the hair on your head stand on end as mentioned above...lol. At this point it still wasn't quite loud enough so, my current setup is a true dual with two magnaflow strait through mufflers (no resignators) and it sounds awesome. It's not crazy loud by any means, but it does have a very nice deep growl with a little drone, but honestly it does not bother me at all. Just my .02...good luck!
I agree. I have the same MF setup with no resignators and haven't noticed any drone yet. The only thing I've noticed is bad fuel mileage, 'cause it sounds so good.lol!
