I guess I have a question. Since someone stated that the resonator does not affect performance does that mean its a streight through design. Is a single stage muffler, just smaller. I want to remove mine just to give the exhauset better flow with my megnaflow muffler, but I dont want to hack the exhaust any more than it is at this point. I like my vehicles lound and dont care about drone, but if there is no benefit I was going to leave it on there. The worst drone I ever heard was my mustang with stinger mufflers, but the exhaust is a lot closer to the driver than in a Ram.
That's correct, the resonators are straight through design. They are sort of like a mini magnaflow, and I believe they have no packing.

Basically no difference. The only difference will be that you remove the resonators, so you may get some more drone inside the cab.

I can relate to that...lol. My gas mileage has gone down like 3-4 mpg (on average) becuase my foot has a hard time staying off the pedal. I'm seriously addicted to the sound of rumbling exhaust.

If I added a 14" Maggy, would turning them down behind the axle create more drone than straight out the back? Being in WV, I drive on more hills than anything else, so I am almost always on the gas when driving. I also tow a camper, and other trailers. I really don't want the exhaust blowing straight back on it. So I was thinking about a turn down. What does everyone else think?

My 2007 had the a flowmaster that dumped before the rear axle, quad cab, and the drone was freaking awful in that truck. At throttle it sounded great, at idle it sounded great, cruising hwy, good grief, I hated it.
This one, my 2011, I am still on the fence, it has the factory duels, and sounds OK at throttle and hwy is very nice, I just dont know yet about a change.
