Default Regular cab questions

so my brother is about to order a '12. he wants a reg cab with an 8 foot box and 4x. this would be a work truck. anyone have this combo? looking for input, pro and con. need to be able to carry 4x8 sheets of plywood and park in the city. any pics? the local dealer says these are special order these days as no one wants a reg cab!

That truck you are looking for is called the Tradesman model it's a RC LB with Hemi in 4x2 or 4x4.

I had to factory order my truck,which is a 4x2 rclb.
There was not another close to what I wanted in all of Canada.
The nice thing about factory order is you get the things you want.
Very few trucks come with 3:93 gears,I also wanted backup camera.
I did not want to pay a bunch of money for sport package,because I did not want to pay for 20 inch wheels etc.
Fun truck to drive,except stock tranny is POS.

my brother ordered his truck last week. the salesman called a reg cab long box a 'unicorn'. sure not much of a price break! three months for delivery as well. its gonna be a great truck though.

The dealer is right. Toyota is yet to decide in 2012 if they are going to make a reg cab. They say it doesnt cost any less to make a reg cab and the sales on them are terrible. Also, Ford doesnt know if they are going to continue the reg cab.

I think here in a couple years when the next gen trucks come out, there will be no more reg cabs. Dodge just might own the market from here on out.

I currently have a reg cab. I love them. But you will have to trade it in someday, because no one wants to buy a reg cab, yet alone a long bed.

Found mine on a lot in another state, talked to my local dealer they contacted the dealer that had the one I wanted. The local dealer cut me a deal almost $6,000 if sticker, sent an employee to get the truck.

My last truck was an extended cab short-box. The back seat mainly collected junk, and every time I hauled anything it stuck out the back. Will never own a short-box again. An extended cab long-box is too long to take into the timber, and a PIA to park in town.

The only grip I have about my standard cab is that the drivers power seat does not have a dump feature. Everytime I want to get into the stroage bin behind the seat I have to run the seat back forward with the power switch, then restet the seat.
