Default 2002 Camaro SS engine build

Well Im building a new engine for my SS. Before it had a 498" LSX 14:1CR solid roller ITB nasty freakin thing that made might 850 whp and while it never made a full pass, had high 8sec- low 9sec 330' and 1/8mile times n/a. I got tired of that though and decided to sell the complete motor trans combo and build something bigger and better

Here is how the car has been sitting for about a month and a half with no engine/trans.

Plans (roughly 460 ci)
tall deck RHS block
Callies magnum rotating assembly with custom diamond 9.5:1 pistons
Dailey 5 stage dry sump oiling system
Mast Motorsports 12 degree large bore heads
Custom spec'ed cam (obviously nothing "off the shelf" would come close to being good for this build lol)
Super victor intake manifold w/ accufab TB

and to top it all off!, erm should I say sit in front of everything and make a whole lot of noise!

an F-2 procharger

So car i have the rotating assembly and the block, still waiting on the oiling system before I begin assembly.

Im shooting for 14XX+ to the wheels on C16 w/ meth @ 35 psi and 1000 or so to the wheels on "low boost" (see 20-25psi) on the street on pump gas and meth and I wont be happy with out a mid7 second timeslip

Till more likely get a t400 for a trans

Ill update this as i go and get parts for it. I hope to be on the road again mid next summer, I have a lot of work to do on the car itself like rollcage (it doesnt have one) and fuel tanks and crap like that. Im going to full interior drag car that can be taken to a show/cruise if I want it to.

Sounds cool. How come it never made a full pass? That hp/ET range is getting beyond what I'm used to/comfortable with, but I'd had guessed you'd need more than 1,400 hp for a 7 second timeslip...I'd think 1,400 hp would run 9's, maybe 8's at best?

Race weight for the car is sub 3000lbs. It went 10.99 with 430whp what it was full bolt ons, cam w/4.56s (full suspension as well).

It never made a full pass because I never got to run it out the back door. it would go 5.95-6.05 very constantly @ 115ish in the 1/8th mile (it was all the track I had in SoCal that was worth running at).

If my math is right, 3000 w/ 1400 when setup correct will run 7.50s-7.60s... a lot of variables involved but the foundation is right :edit: and be right around 5.0 in the 1//8th

Pretty cool. I'm still skeptical of 7's, but hopefully you'll prove me wrong

At those speeds car weight is more important than HP and being under 3K makes it A LOT easier

He just sent me pics, not NEARLY as bad as he made it out to be when he was flustered this morning lol. He said $4k worth of damage, but a deductible will cover it...He's going to change to a SS spoiler and have the whole car get a fresh paint job he said now's a good time to do it. It was his fault, he said a car apparently just stopped for no reason on US1 and the guy in front of him in a new VW Jetta locked up the tires and then he locked up his camaro and the VW stopped faster lol.

Still looks BA IMO haha

I would like to go to the race, that's the best drag racing there is right there. I'll likely be working all weekend though . World street nationals at orlando speedworld in november !

Can't wait to see your camaro unfold!

EDIT: You planning on going?
