What a great Birthday Present....

I went shopping today and while driving to the store i heard a "thump"- i didn't hit anything and so I didn't think anything of it at the time. Got back to the truck after shopping and noticed about 95% of the Plasti Dip off of my passenger front wheel !!! All others are just as they were when I left. I then assumed the "thump" I heard early was the Dip coming off in a large chunk or something and hitting my inner fender.

Weather Conditions: ~40*F with light rain. Nothin' extreme, well within the suggested temp. use for the product.

I'll be writing the manufacturer to see what idea's they come up with. I'll probably just re-shoot the wheel with my left over cans since the other 3 are holding up fine...but if it continues then off it goes..........

here's a pic:

What kind of prep did you do? I know it says you don't have to scuff it to get it to adhere but I've never had any luck with any type of painting or coating sticking without a scuff. That sort of defeats the purpose of it though as one of the great things about it is it peels right off leaving no damage.

Prep just included cleaning. I agree scuffing is good for other painting. But i didnt because 1) no one before me said it was needed 2) didnt want to ruin my stock wheels.

I went ahead and peeled them all clean which took less than 5 min. No damage to wheels.

I think the rain and colder temps put a hurt on the adhesion properties.

Time to save up for actual black wheels
