No Dave, not much snow down here. Last measurable snow we got was in 2004 lol and it snowed on Christmas no less but I bet they are fun! I'm with Matt336, I love jet skiing!

Thanks, Assault. It is my 5th Polaris, but it is a 600, not an 8. Wanted the Rush since it came out in 2010. They made some significant changes in 2011 and more for 2012. Can't wait to break it in. Headed up to the U.P. in a few weeks to dial it in. Hope they have enough snow!!

And Dana, if you bet they are fun, you HAVE to get out and ride one. Take a mini trip and go ride one. I like jet skiing somewhat, but nothing like riding a sled!! Really, go try it!!

the 600 is an awesome motor, I had a 600 cfi before i bought the assault, tons of power for a 600 and very reliable, your 600 will probably beat my 8 anyways, sad to say the 144 assault only does 102 mph... but I didnt buy it for pounding lakes! now all I need is snow, had some very cold nights this past week but its supposed to be 9C tmrw and an inch of rain this weekend to that will hurt any frost in the ground! enjoy your winter and sled, ride safe!

1 last thing, where in the U.P do you go? I live 3 hours from sault ste marie and there is no snow there... if there is snow past there I might trailer for an early season ride hahah

I'll tell ya what, we are going to Munising (pending snow!) which is just east of Marquette, and west of Sault Ste Marie by maybe 80-90 miles?? Funny story is a guy I work with in Detroit area sent me a pic of his new sled and I sent one back of mine...he told me they were going up Dec 10th and they asked me to go, but in my opinion, the more the merrier!! Now for me, it is a 7.5 hour drive, so 3+ hours for you would be nothing!! (pending snow!) Wanna meet us there??

Second trip is late January to Ironwood/Bessemer area which is far west side of the UP. You are more than welcome to hit us up on that one too!! This one is with my regular group of 7, plus two from the Minneapolis area this year. Mostly 600 ski doos with two other polaris 600 and an arty cat 7. Your 800 will eat us all up, but in the woods we get kinda crazy!!

Pretty cool man, I've always wanted to ride one, but I've only seen snow twice hahaha.

Oh that's too funny, Mopar!! Last year we stayed at the Hurley Inn and ate dinner at the Iron Horse (I think). Is that the place that has the webcam out back that shows the trail? Anyway, quite a few of us went to "services" on Sunday keeping our faith! There used to be two or three entertainment places, and last year I think I counted 5? Anyway, had a great time. Went up to Lake of the Clouds and coming back on trail #11 had a buddy kiss a tree pretty good. If you ever head south on 11 from the Porcupine Mtn area, I think it runs parrallel to the Presque Isle road, look for the sign we put in the tree for him!!
