Default Intake Noise?

I just installed a CAI on the truck, and I noticed that the intake makes a random sucking/popping noise. If im accelerating or even on cruise, the intake sounds like it sucks in a bunch of air suddenly, and "pops", although when it does this the truck's rpm's stay constant, it doesnt jump or slow down. Any ideas?

Normally, all you should be hearing is the rush of air as you accelerate. Maybe a little when you let off at high revs.

I know that the aftermarket intakes magnify other engine noises.

Did the CAI you got allow you to re-attach your PCV breather hose?

I'd go over all the intake bolts, TB bolts, check the CAI connections, etc...to make sure it's all tight.

ya i had a CAI on my grand am, and i know how that sounded. But this makes this random quick sucking punch noise. all connections seem to be correct and on tight. it doesnt make the noise at idle. only during acceleration (slow only) and cruise speed (any speed)

Does your truck have MDS?It will make a noise when the MDS comes on and off.I had installed a CAI on an old 06 I had and couldn't stand the sound caused from the MDS, so I returned it to stock.I recently purchased a new 2011 and I am not changing anything involving the exhaust or CAI because of the MDS.I think the Diablo tuner can disable the MDS, but IMO not worth sacrificing gas mileage.
