So I'm wanting to paint my engine cover...would anyone mind telling me what kinda of paint/clear coat they used? Any and all info is greatly appreciated

I wet sanded all the parts then applied adhesion promoter then i used a high heat for a so called primer coat wet sanded that put on my color of choice then wet sanded that then a high heat clear then a light sanding and then buffed it.

haha ok so a lot of sanding a high heat paint..awesome thanks for the info and quick responses maybe I can get this done this summer when I get back home

I used regular Duplicolor touch-up spray paints and clear coat (PU) over automotive grey primer and adhesion promoter the last time I did my '09. Haven't got 'round to doing the '11 yet but plan on the same this time as well.

The high heat paint you can buy from places like Advanced Auto Parts. The Blue or Red wire covering you can get online or at Pep Boys if you have one in town. Other places could offer it but I've only seen it at Pep Boys here in Jacksonville. If you can flip the cash for some BT Engine dress up parts they look great and are well worth the money for some great quality pieces.
