Hey Redlight, that sucks. I will keep my eyes open here in Calgary and let you know if I hear of anything suspicious.

Thanks man, I appreciate it, however I doubt you'd hear anything since its a couple hrs away and my stuff is already probably sold to some drug dealer in town. Bigtime thanks though!!

I'm sorry to hear your truck was broken into. Pisses me off that some people think they can just take what they want without any consequences.

Hope the basturd cut himself real good.

Many years ago I wired a 12v electric fencer to my truck, using an insulated ground strap to make the 'earth' connection. When a would-be thief came along to steal a toolbox out of my truck, he got zapped. He then called the police who were waiting for me when I came out of the store. The guy even admitted to the attempted theft, and proceeded to having 'ME' charged with a violation. As he 'did not' actually steal the tool box, he was free and clear, and I had to pay a fine for 'Endangering Others'.

I got the message - The victim always pays in the end.

I live in Birmingham right on the meeting point of a very nice neighborhood and a very poor neighborhood. As a result I have had 2 tool boxes pried open, the soft top on my jeep cut (even though the zipper was very easy to use), and a back window shattered on an old truck. I have learned the best thing to do is keep everything out of sight and invest in a good security system and tint, and I have found that the Viper products are superior to any I have used in the past. I have the security tint on my truck, which reinforces the windows with a hardened polymer layer and I can tell you my windows have withstood a few vicious impacts. I also have a viper remote start/alarm that has a blue light indicating the alarm is armed...add to that my Mossburg 500A and 105lb Doberman and I think we're pretty well covered

I'm very surprised you were charged with anything. I would have taken that to court, as he was "trespassing" on your property.

I did take it to court.....waste of a day and $. Since it was in a public parking lot, and he was not in the box of the truck, he was not 'technically' trespassing.
However, I was warned that my electric device could kill someone (Yah Right!) and if I was charged again, that I would likely see jail time.

I've seen justice served hot and cold. It's about 50/50. Wish I could run my business with only a 50% hit rate.

I really hate this world. If you did go after these punks and beat their a$$es, like others have said you would goto jail. How the heck is that fair. Drives me nuts. Good luck with everything, and when you do get an alarm be sure to get one with a transceiver remote. My favorite alarms are Prestige by audiovox, and have almost a mile alert range if your car is tampered with. I'm sure DEI(Viper) makes a good one, either way also invest in a microwave motion sensor for the bed. This was any movement in the bed, and if configured around the truck will send you an alert. Good luck man...
