I worked at a gm dealer for years and I have only seen one guy get voided because of mods he took the complete interior out and put dynamat in behind everything and then brings it in for rattles in the dash

I had this same question. I am about to install a CAI on my 2014 5.7
So now that I do not have to worry about the warranty, is it really necessary to
disconnect the negative term on the battery? I have heard that this is required to reset the
computer to allow for the increased air flow and insure a smooth running engine.
I can not imagine trying to re-configure all this electronic stuff: BT, Uconnect, and other stuff that the dealership set up when I took delivery. UGHHH!

Just don't drop a wrench across the two battery terminals and short everything out. Otherwise you are fine. Careful with the sensors in the intake pipe.
