Default exhaust mod question

hey everyone,
sorry if this has been answered... i looked but I couldnt find an answer. So here is my question. I am going to be installing a dual exhaust... ok single in dual out at the muffler, I want something is gonna give my tuck some good sound but I dont want it to be loud inside the cab. I remember reading somewhere that if you install a glasspack infront of the muffler it will keep things relatively quiet inside the cab. If that is true what type/size glasspack should i put on the system. Reason I am wanting to do this is because I dont wanna make my 18 month old go deaf or mess up my hearing anymore than it already is

I've never heard of that and don't know that it'd help much. Resonators at the tailpipes might help a bit with cab noise and drone.

Keep the resonators for sure.

The longer the muffler case, the quieter the muffler is gonna be. I have an 18" Magnaflow SI/DO muffler and it got louder as it burned in. My neighbors would say it's a bit obnoxious.

I have a 14 inch magnaflow and it's really mellow. You can hear it inside the cab but nothing that the radio on low volume doesn't drown out. I want mine to get louder really.

ok guys thanks for the advice... I decided on a kit from an ebay seller for 185 shipped that has an xcelerator branded muffler, listened to a few of them on youtube and they seemed to be pretty mellow, if not i can always add some resonators at the end to get some of my sanity back lol thanks for the advice guys! When i get the exhaust on Ill be sure to get some videos up and some pics of the truck, ive done quite a few mods to the truck since i got it in april.

The resonators your truck came with (or came on a factory dual exhaust truck) are tuned specifically for your engine. Be sure to use the factory resonators (as close to the stock location as possible) for the best results. You don't have the MDS drone to worry about with the 4.7L but still might be disappointed if you're not careful. Good luck!
