40 to 50 minutes, damn you'd be able to sit naked in her by then! I find at -20C the truck is comfortable to sit in without a jacket inside of 20 minutes. I can't get over the amount of heat these Rams will put out.

Start plugging in at -10 or colder, 5-10 minutes warm up time, after -20, 15-20 minutes, gas is cheap in the grand scheme.....well not really but that's just me.

I'm finding that at 0 degreees C, its about 10 minutes to see the guage start to move, but you can start to feel some heay after about 6 minutes. it is so nice to remote start the beast from my kitchen. another trick for us outside parkers is to always keep your back to the wind. it makes a difference.

Yeah the remote start turns the truck off after fifteen minutes. I find that if I drive it right before or after it shuts off its nice and warm and the heat is already being pushed out at HI. It helps that the leather seats and steering wheel turn on as well haha. Yeah thanks for all your input guys, I'll definatly be letting it warm up longer from now on.

45 min to an hour, holy hell that is too long. You are mostly only warming up the engine when it's sitting idling, and it's plenty warmed up after an hour. The trans and gear oil only really starts warming up when you drive. 5 - 10 minutes is all it's needs, then start off slow until the trans and rear end get warmed up.

Hey Alberta, you can send some of your cold air out here, feels like summer here still, we could soon use some snow for Christmas Why else did I buy 4x4

Here in Austin, it got down to almost 60 last night. When I left this morning I let it warm up for about 30 seconds.(Sorry, I couldn't help myself)

I'm going to take a guess that the guy who says 45mins was being sarcastic... lol.

5-10mins is all I need, even all the coldest days. Gas is too expensive to let it idle much longer than that.

At night when i am going to using my Ram any more
I pre set the climate controls for the morning start up ie:
if it is going to be freezing in the morning, i set make sure the A/C is turned off, the temperature is set to say 75 F, & the blower is set to either Automatic or another setting that i want. Then & only then, i shut off the key.
I used to set the settings after i shut off the key & the settings would not necessarily be programmed in. On more than one occasion i would get out to the vehicle & the damn a/c would be on, instead of heating.

I remote start my Ram from my front door, then i put on my shoes & socks, put on my coat & grab my coffee cup & go out to my running warmed up vehicle

I let my Ram warm up for 10 min. The frost is gone and warm air is blowing and then do the 5 min. drive to work.

I plug mine in and let it run for 3-5 minutes. I also have a battery cover. That being said I did not have plug in parking at college and she still fired up with no problems when it was -30. Dont forget gas line anti freeze too. Never hurts.

I used to have a neighbor that would let his diesel run all night when it was -40. Damn was that thing noisy and stinky.
