Default Got Dodge involved

OK Some a couple months back I took the Ram in Twice for the wind noise, The dealer did do the bulletin but still had it took it back and the service manager told me its was the buffering from the mirrors. Someone here (sorry cant recall) said that Dodge spent alot of time in the wind tunnel. So I finally couldnt take it anymore. I emailed Dodge within 24 hrs I got a personal customer service rep and a case number. The rep called me and ask me me what the problems are. So I told him the wind noise, torque converter noise and now I get a banging noise behing the back seat on the drivers side. He arranged for me to take it to a different dealership and that a rent a car would be waiting. Stop there to drop truck off and no rental 20 minutes away didnt have time to wait my appointment is today so wish me luck.
There these trucks that poorly made?
This is my 3rd Ram and by far the one I have had the most issues with. I shouldve just kept the 04 2500

I had to do the same thing (get Chrysler involved) when I had the torque converter issue. It finally got fixed after 3 months of total Bullsh#% and all is good now. Copy and print the STAR case document in regard to the torque converter. You will find it in a few different threads on this forum that concern this issue.

I do have the wind noise and it is somewhat annoying, but not enough to have the dealership start ripping stuff apart.

I too have had a major rattle/banging in the back portion of the rear seat. I was dealing with this for a long time until yesterday. I don't know if you have the same trim level as mine, ST, but if you lift the bottom portion of the seat up to access storage, the back portion of the seat has some travel of it's own also. It must be on some kind of half-ass track or something. Anyway, if I grabbed the back portion of the seat (bottom portion down), I could replicate the sound by shaking it and pounding on it. There is just too much slop that the back portion has when lifting the bottom up for storage. What I ended up doing was rolling up a small hand towel and stuffing it between the back of the seat, just below the driver side headrest, and the back wall of the cab, below the rear window. The noise is totally gone. Shouldn't have to do this, but it was a cheap and easy fix and you cant even tell there is a towel back there.

I do agree with you, in my case, my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins was a way better truck in my opinion than my 2011. I don't miss the diesel engine because I don't need a diesel anymore, although it was awesome and ran like a top, it just seemed like the entire truck was built more solid and quiet, even with the diesel. If I could do it again, I wouldn't.

I got the Chrysler involved once for erratic idle problem on my 11 RAM, Chrysler costumer service called the local dodge dealer while I was on the other line, problem solved in few minutes. (Great service from my local dealer, after my complain to the main coorporate).

This never ends Talked to the rep at Dodge Fri and he said the dealer told him all of my issues are due to the aftermarket kit. Im was furious because it a mopar lift the dealer installed. The wind noise is because of a lift? REALLY! The knocking in the CAB of my truck I was told it was a broken strut INSIDE THE CAB REALLY!! The they couldnt replicate the TC noise Im not surprised. I am seriously concidering getting rid of this truck. Doesnt anyone back their products anymore??

I did as BlackThundar suggested and put a rolled up towel behind the passenger side rear seat and the knocking went away Thanks Thundar IF only Dodge was this helpful
Stay tuned

It sounds like some of you here in this post have the T/C issue.
Can you shed some light on your symptoms? I THINK my truck has a case of the "Star Report Blues", just need to be sure.
I experience a vibration in the steering. And, sometimes I feel a low "hum" when the MDS kicks in. Not always though. Feels like the truck drops into gear 10!!

Did you tell anyone in customer service about the
TOWEL TRICK?? someone should !!!

the funny wind noise that i have is almost eliminated if i crack a rear window, or keep all windows closed, it no longer sounds like helicopter blades cutting the air, it mentions it in the Owners Manual

Blackpearl there is a PCU upgrade from Dodge that got rid of the 10th gear issue for me.
The vibration could be the engine (lugging?) due to being in too high of a gear with the converter locked, this was my problem.

Sorry to highjack but I do not have enough posts to PM.

OP don't get discouraged fight until they fix your issues.
