Default 05 Ram foglight issue

I have installed HID's in my foglights and they were working great for over year. The last while I had issue's with the lights coming on and then going out about 10 seconds after turning them on.. I just assumed that was a bad ballast and I have installed new ones which seemed to help for a bit.. My issue now is that only my passenger side fog works... I was having problems with the drivers side before, where it was going out.. I changed the bulb then the ballast and now its completely dead? I tried swapping back in a bulbs and ballast that had been working intermittent and still nothing. Does anyone know what causes the ballasts/bulbs to go bad on these things? Also the main question is, is there a separate fuse for each fog light? I only see a single fuse and relay.. fuse location #41 in the fusebox under the hood. Thanks for any insight. Dan

One fuse for the circuit, Dan, so if you lose one but not both fogs, it's not a fuse issue.

I can't imagine you have a bad bulb and ballast unless the previous ballast that was going bad blew the bulb.

Did both fogs flicker when you were initially having problems?

Like MADDOG said, there is only 1 fuse for both, and they share the same relay.
The power from the relay feeds a splice that distributes to both lights on the White/Yellow wire, so you can test it for power. If not there, follow it back to the splice and repair as necessary. The ground (Black wire) also feeds back to a splice to join up with the ground from the other side.

If you test between the black and White/Yellow wires and have power, then the problem lies in the ballast or bulb or both.

Thanks for the replies guys. And thanks for moving my post, its so confusing over here now, knowing where to post and all and to get a healthy number of views for a response. Anyway, I was hoping to get home from work tonight to check for power and if I do have power, then I was going to put in an entire new kit. I didn't think there was a separate fuse or relay, but I wanted to be sure. With the issues I've had on that light I wouldn't be surprised there is a ground issue on that side. Just given the chracteristics of my issue. Maddog - I've had trouble with both fogs, but mostly drivers side. Never a flicker, just drops out, usually solvable by turning off and back on, assumed it was weather related. Ill post back what I find. Thanks.

Managed to find the culprit.. all is working well now for several days. Turned out that I had 1 bad bulb and also a bad connection on the plug... very worn and corroded terminals. Now if only I could find some help with my girlfriends 04 Mistu Lancer! What a pita that thing has been with its Bi-Xenon kit.
