Default 30K Scheduled Maintenance

My local dealer wants to charge me $700 for the 30k mile service. Which includes; oil change, tire rotation & balance, alignment, transmission fluid and filter change, coolant flush, spark plugs. But the owners manual only calls for oil change, tire rotation, and spark plugs. Should I do the required or suggested? Any thoughts?

I'd go with what the manual recommends, that's what I did, but they're just trying to sell you services you don't need.

I would do the plugs and tire rotation myself, and let them do the oil change if they do it cheap. I have a dealer that does an oil change for a little under $24, so it's not worth getting dirty for me to do it myself. To hell with the rest, they're trying to make a killing off you.

I agree with what everyone else says. Go with what the manual says. The other stuff won't hurt, but I doubt that it's truly needed at this point

trans fluid is good at least up to 55000miles,... so thats not needed,..

at 30k you should look for plug change, tire rotation, motor oil change, and maybe the diff oil/transfert case oil change,..

You'll notice the Owners Manual says to "check" not to "change"! I agree with others.
Does your '09 have the 'Lifetime Powertrain Warranty'? Just follow the Manual.

I had my tires rotated about every 6,000 miles, they just did a front to back switch, not even the recommended X pattern. The right front tire always cupped with the stock tires

I waited until 40,000 to do plugs at the dealer
At 42,000 i switched to Royal Purple in the rear end & transmission, both trans filters were replaced then too. I had the shop i use do a COMPLETE transmission flush with a fancy machine. They also installed my BT Catch Can.
I used to change oil & filter at the dealer, but now they are using Pennzoil dino oil in the bulk tanks & who knows what actual brand the Mopar oil filters are now.
I switched to Mobile One synthetic motor oil & a good quality oil filter, personally my choice was the WIX, NAPA Gold, Carquest filter, all are built by WIX, K&N is another good choice. I now change oil & filter at 5,000 miles

I use the K & N air filter, drop in, dry type, i need to change it again or wash the one that i have, i am at 57,000 miles now, i want a spare to switch out anyway

I recently had my 30k done and all that was required was the rear diff and plugs, take a look at the device schedule it's outlined in black and white. The dealers are usually always looking for some extra cash.
