No appreciable difference will be noticed. It's a little less pipe, one more bend, etc...no big deal.

it's more of an aesthetic choice...what looks good to you?

A drop in doesn't do a whole lot for performance, but keep it long enough and it'll pay itself off. The intake he would do should be fine if he does a heat sheild. It really just depends, I don't know this guy, he could be the worlds greatest craftsman, or the biggest hack lol. If you want to add gauges, trans temp is a definite biggie for trucks.

I like either look of the exhausts. It just depends what is easier for him to put on the truck because i think the spare tire is located underneath. And alright, ill probably just stick to the short ram with a cone filter if he can put on a heat shield i guess.

And what kind of pillars would fit into the truck? Yeah i was planning on the transmission temp guage but what about the oil temp, vacuum, etc? I'll probably get a pillar with 3 guage ports.

I don't know about the pillars, you have to search and find ones that fit for your truck. Try JCWhitney, Autoanything, etc...

As far as the gauges, oil temp would be ok, but usually closely mimics coolant temp so is somewhat useless. Vacuum is somewhat useless too, although it can be monitored to help achieve better mpg. Really what you want is coolant temp, oil pressure, voltage, trans temp. Everything else is optional but these ones IMO are a must.

Alright thanks ill keep that stuff in mind. One last thing:

What kind of cold air intake system would be a decent one to get off of ebay for kind of cheap? I'm still not 100% sure if im going to be getting my stock one modified or just go ahead and get a cold air intake. Is there any real good ones for under 100 dollars?

Is this intake any good? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-RAM-15...item45fd20bba2

And what about these pillar setups: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-LED-DIGITA...item20bd4dfd5e

Surprisingly that ebay CAI actually does appear to be half way decent. The only thing to watch out for is the quality of the "generic" filter. I've heard stories of crappy filters falling apart then you suck the material into the engine.

Ok ill look out for that if i get one off of there. But as for the guage setup; what should i be looking for? I have an idea of what guages im going to get but what about analogue vs digital guages? They both look pretty nice in my opinion but i have never used them before. I posted some examples in the post previous to yours, snrusnak.

I prefer traditional needle style gauges, the give you an idea of range instead of just a number. You need sending units for any gauge added, be aware of that. Electronic sending units will be the easier/better way to go over mechanical sending units. I'm not too well versed with the wiring and all that, maybe get some more input.

I like that intake for the money, should be decent. Don't waste any money on those "gas savers" or fans they only hurt. It's a scam. That second filter/heat shield looks like it would only hurt as well by crowding the filter area.
