Default Dash cap review

My dash just started to crack, just 2, but bound to get worse. My dash bezel was about to fall apart, also, so I went the Dash Cap route, https://www.storesonline.com/site/1427228/page/45029

Although I provided the color code, the new cap didn't exactly match up, but I thought that it was close enough. The cap fit pretty good, except they did not allow for the 2 screws just below the pillar- I had to cut out for that.

The bezel wasn't as good a fit as I would have liked, not quite as happy with that, but with what Dodge wanted for a new bezel, I'm OK with it. You still need to be careful when handling the new piece, as the new bezel mounts to the old one.

Installation was pretty simple, they have videos here: https://www.storesonline.com/site/1427228/page/3414074

I would recommend getting a tube of silicone and use a caulking gun to apply, as getting the silicone adhesive out was the hardest thing about the installation, and they didn't provide quite enough. Would have been much easier and neater with a caulking gun.

The new cap and bezel were $247.00 A little less, if you don't live in Florida, because I had to pay sales tax. Overall, pretty happy with how it turned out.

who did you get the cap from?lmc if im thinking its the type that just covers the old dash has it for$149. to $129. and you can get new bezel w/ vents instaled in it for $169. Or my route when the time and $ come im going to replace the whole pad thats going to be about $200.

Dashcovers Plus Depot was where I got the parts from. $89.99 for the cap with a $17 surcharge for the color, $79.99 for the bezel, and $48 shipping. Plus I had to pay tax since it came out of Florida, where I live. I put the link on my first post. I think it would work, you will have to be creative with the silicone. Silicone only goes around the edges. The bezel used the old vents. Good luck.

I hear ya! My bezel was really starting to fall apart, especially when handling it. I still need to be careful with it, since I felt a piece breaking off when I had to remove it, even after the new cover.
