Default custom rebadge opinion please

i have been thinking about this for a while. well the weather was just crappy enough to get started. i just debadged the whole truck and i want to put the tailgate badge back on. this is what it is looking like. i might do the body color on the background still but am not too sure. i like the thought but i dont know if it would look good with the black chrome. i put the hood badge on today also. i like the clean look but wanted a little something on. i am going to do the front badge to match the tailgate as soon as i get it all buttoned up. any input would be great. thanks

The contrast with the body color and black chrome would look good.

wow and wow. thanks for taking the time to photoshop that. that does look nice. and Maddog i hate lookin at your truck because it reminds me that i have a looooong way to go. that is just a sweet badge. and i want those hellas. i have been reading through the forum to see how hard it would be to paint and i think i dont have enough know how to pull it off. i am going to practice on some other stuff and see if i can get the touch down.

The longest voyage starts with but a single step, padawan.

I never learned how to paint and, now, for me it's too late....LOL

I'm never done with my vehicles...I just keep goin' and goin', even if it's a little item.

Cool badge Michael! I really like the body color with the black chrome for your truck johnnyG, I think that would look awesome!

so after a couple of weeks of trying different things and screwing up and stripping and painting and stripping and painting and cleaning...well you get the picture. i failed at what i was trying to accomplish so i just ended up going with the red back and chrome head. i am happy with it but really wish i could have done the black chrome with the red. i just have to learn this painting thing better first. i am going to paint that handle red though. i will see how that goes.

Looks nice none the less. Doing the same thing with mine now, just have to practice painting so it will come out right. Try a local salvage yard (junk yard) and see if they will sell the badges to you, get a couple of them and try it again. Never give up on the dream of making it what you want. My first mod to my truck was retro blacked out lights and it took 4 headlights to do it because I broke two of them, but in the end I did not quit and got what I wanted. Take a break from it and try it again in a couple of weeks and it will be easier and better than this time around. The frustration of failure has a heavy weight and it can make a simple task almost impossible. Looking forward to seeing that black chrome badge on the truck in the future.
