Default HID & projector clarification

Ive been reading about the headlight upgrades for a couple of days. Let me see if I have this right.

HIDs. Different type of headlight. Burn at various temps/colors. Provide brighter light than halogens. Can be installed without baking the headlight assembly apart.

Ballast, an electronic box needed to run HIDs.

Projectors. A reflective "bowl" that focuses the light from a bulb. Projectors can be used with HIDs or stock halogens. Headlights must be baked in order to open the headlight assembly and install the projector.

Have I got it right?

Well, I'm not interested in baking my lights. So I'm looking at HIDs only or buying new lights altogether. I see recons are available for 2011s, but I think spyders aren't available yet. Also I can't recall which is cheaper, but I think Dodgert likes to tell people which is the better deal. Maybe I won't have to go looking for his posts...

Spyders & Recon projectors are the same IMHO. Spyder's for the 09 & 10 are the same as the 11, I have them in my truck.

Got recons in my 2011 with HIDs (55Watt now) in the projectors. Damn do people ever hate me... ha Atleast I can see a mile down the road right??

Just my two cents, if you don't feel like dropping a few hundred bucks on a set of projectors upgrading your stock bulbs to HIDs are a night and day difference. Thats what I did at first.

But once I went to projectors... new bulbs are required so another investment.

Old Headlights: With HIDS

New Projectors:with HIDS

What is that tent that you have your truck in? I don't have a garage and I need something to keep my truck clean.

Its a "Tempo" (just a vehicle shelter) We get them at Canadian tire here in Ontario. In the states I don't really know what is the brother of our canadian tire.

They come on sale for like 200 to 600$. All depends how big/sturdy you want it.

It is definitely a good investment though, mom keeps her Nitro in it
