Default shocks

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 crew cab short 4x4 stock , front bars turned up to level truck, but my question is what kind of shocks to install, I very modertly go off road like in the desert and am not a heavy off roader,I am looking to be able to travel at moderate pace no jumping ,this is dad's family rig ,so I am not going rock climbing, but still want control, and then there is the issue of getting to and from off roading and the dreaded highway chop that pounds you to death just getting there, have tow package and ST,anyone with any real life experiance with shock installs have any recommedations, like KYB's,Monroe gas magnums,Bilstines or any of the other veriable rate shock's without going overboard like Fox remolt reservoir shocks Thanks

Do you have a price range in mind?
Alot of people love the bilstien 5100 for everyday use, mostly because they make them in ride height adjustable as well which arent going to apply to your truck
Bistien 7100 are also a really nice shock but can get pricey
I have pro comp es9000 cause bilstiens werent in the budget. I'm really have with them after 5000 miles. Went with them cause they are nitrogen charged, my friends were having problem with the similar series BDS shocks freezing
