Default Intermittent Airbag Light/Chime

2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 1500 4.7 sport 4x4
Last 8 of the vin: 2J238687

Summary of Problem:
Intermittent Airbag Light/Chime

What I've checked/done so far:
Battery - Ok
Charging system - Ok

Description of issues:
A few weeks ago the airbag light came on along with an audible chime. It only stayed on for a moment, perhaps 5-10 seconds, then shut off and I didn't see it again for a day or two. It came back again, this time on, then off, then on again, seemingly randomly. Some times it will stay off for a couple days at a time, and others it lights up and chimes every 5-10 seconds. I really see no pattern at all, though it seems to be set off by rough roads. I happen to live on a dirt road that's pretty rough (middle of no-where Texas will do that). However, there have been times I've gone up and down the same road, bumping and banging around as usual and nothing happens, so I really have no idea if it's got anything to do with it.

I've checked the battery and charging system, as I read that they can cause issues with air bag systems - no luck there. I know absolutely nothing about airbag systems, or even where to start with them, aside from the fact that its dangerous to go poking around blindly when dealing with them. At any rate, before I give up and am forced to take this to a shop and pay money I really don't have I was hoping someone might have some ideas on things to check. Perhaps a loose connection, faulty sensor, wires in a specific location that are commonly found damaged on these trucks, or anything along those lines?
I am at a loss on this one, and would truly appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks everyone.

Did you ever find anything out about this problem? I have an 07 ST with the 4.7. It just started this same exact thing this weekend. There's no rhyme or reason to the light going off. I get the indicator as soon as I start the truck and if I'm driving at slower speeds it goes off randomly but seemingly often. At highway speeds I don't get it very often at all. The only recent work done to the truck is that I replaced my tie rod ends and got the front end aligned. I have the passenger airbag off and the "Off" light is illuminated.
