How much wiggle on the tie rod? A "little" is kinda vague. Is there a grease fitting on it, and if so, did you attempt to grease it?

There shouldn't be any more than a "little" actually I'd categorize it as a tiny bit.

it wiggles more than a tiny bit...but with the truck jacked up the tire doesnt have any play side to side...idk how to tell you how much it wiggles. i had a 97 f150 one time and the tie rods were bad and you could grab the bar and it would separate from the ball of the tie rod, and this dont do that it just kind rolls around the ball and no i didnt try greasing them yet

I would pry on the bar against the frame and see if there is up and down play between the bar and the tie rod.
Any up and down play is too much.
Another way is to have someone cycle the steering and see if the bar moves around on the tie rod. Again, any noticable side to side movement is too much.

Well mine was like steering a yacht when I ran over a slip of paper...and they did move quite a bit more. I just don't want to see you replace them just yet and still have the same amount of movement.

After 138k of hard driven miles I noticed my ball joints had a "little" play in them. It was right at the factory spec of .125".
So I popped of my steering knuckles (hub bearing relacemnt gone insane) and you could take the lowers and move them quite freely.
So I replaced them....mmmmm....gotta love that "new truck" feeling!
