Default Fuel gauge and charge gauge failure.

I bought my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 last week. I'm very pleased with it, it's a very nice truck, and I'm trying to solve the small issues it has.

For the moment, what concerns me the most is:

Fuel gauge: Randomly goes down, bleeps a couple times and go back again to normal. Then the check engine light goes on and tells "no bus". The more I get closer to the half-tank, the more often it does that.

Charge gauge: Started doing that this morning, in the middle of the drive, it went down to zero, "check gauge" red light on. I stopped the truck, started it again and went back to normal. After half an hour, it did it again.

I have the feeling that it must be some bad contact or maybe some loose cable but I'm really lost (I used to repair bikes, it's my first time working on a truck).

Any help is welcome.

I'm beginning to think that my truck is possessed :-S
This afternoon, I started the truck, the brake and abs lights on, drove 5 miles, stopped the truck, run again and everything back to normal.

If the check engine lights come on with fuel gadge malfunction. Could be bad sending unit. The bad thing is sending and pump are one unit. Hope for bad plug or wire.

The alternator es giving only 66 amps, and fails randomly, so I suppose it's failing. First thing to change (and not going to be the last)
