Default Installing RER in 2012 Ram 1500

I want to install Navi and back up camera in my Ram 1500. I found some good deals on ebay/craigslist am am thinking about pulling the trigger. I talked to my local dealer, and gave them the part number for the radio I was thinking about buying (RER). They said that it wouldn't work , as that radio is only good up until a 2011 Ram. I talked to a technician, and he said that as long as it was a high speed bus radio, it would work. My question is, assuming it works, will my factory bluetooth still work AND will my glovebox mounted USB port still work. I've searched the forum and haven't really found the answer. Any help would be appreciated. I want to get this figured out before I drop the cash. Thanks in advance.

I have the RER 730N in my '09 & it has all the functions
But the Navigation is not GARMIN based like the newer RHR 730N
I believe that the dimensions for both are the same
Both are High Speed Bussed Systems

If i were in your position, i would look at an after market radio with all the goodies
I would get a Double Din sized radio & do a little bit of trimming on the dash insert area & a dash bezel that is made for double din radio that fits our Rams
Our Rams are 1.5 DIN sized
Some radios that are available

The 430N (RHB) is the Garmin based radio. The 730N (RER/RHR) is Navteq based. Also the info on WKjeeps says that although 2011 and 2012 are still high speed, the buss system is different. Go to their compatability chart to see.

Here is a link to some info on the radios.

One other note, for 2012, the hardrives have been increased to 40 gb from the 30 gb of the older models.

I am not positive but think that the 430N has a separate U Connect module while the more expensive RHR has it built in? So there are plenty of ways to go wrong here unfortunately. The best bet would be to find someone with the same year truck as you that was upgrading and buy his equipment. You'll also need the GPS antenna.
