Default Heads up on Hemi tune up!!!

I took my truck into the dealer today to have the oil changed and tires rotated. It's only about 15 bucks so I can't really complain. Well the guy getting my info/keys tells me I'm about due for a tune up (Hemi) (29,556 miles), so I asked him what it all entailed. He said they replace all 16 spark plugs, reset the PCM and check everything. So I was like sure, why not, I'm already here. Well that little tune up cost $225 + tax. That tune up is due at the 30,000 mile mark so heads up guys/girls.

I don't want any issues when it comes to warranty work (if it's ever needed) so I'm making sure I have all the correct maintenance done on my truck and well documented by the right people. But I'm sure you could do the tune up yourself if you have the right equipment or even take it to somewhere cheaper that can do just as good of a job. Good luck!!!

Very nice! I am a receipt saver and DIYer! I'm hoping to be like Chefred112 and racing with over 200,000 miles!

That sounds about right for 16 plugs and labor for the non DIY'er. I think it calls for 3hrs labor.

I want to do my own as well. I did on my old truck and it seemed like i had less room to work with than I do now. I know that at 18k there is a rear end service that cost me $150 on my wifes truck.

D**m that is a crazy price, but expected especially from a dealer its mostly the hourly charge on labor that a local dealer f's u with. im fortunate to have a shop and help from my mechanic so basically just paying for parts.

I just did my plugs last week. It wasn't that hard at all. It did take me 2.5 hours and my knees were a little sore from being perched on top of the engine whilst reaching the back plugs. I used a universal joint adapter, the 3" extension and the plug socket and had no problems whatsoever.
