Default Flow Master Muffler Add Horses?

I installed a flow master muffler on my truck and I want to know if it still will increase horsepower even though I just changed the muffler only since my truck came with the factory duals and chrome tips.

If nothing else, the flow masters will let the exhaust FLOW better, not so much restriction, therefore better performance

The exhaust is one part of a set of mods that will increase your HP, engine efficiency and torque. Those are:

1. Exhaust
2. Cold air intake
[More air in + more air out = More HP]
3. A programmer
[Takes advantage of the additional airflow through the engine to optimize timing, fuel delivery, spark and other parameters]

So, you've done one good thing & number 2 should be next on your list.

Unfortunately, you don't have an option for item number 3 yet.

as far as mufflers go the flowmasters don't hold a candle to any of the straight through designs (magnaflow, corsa, borla, aeroturbine, and hushpower) but it will still be an improvement over the stock muffler. you should also look into changing the y-pipe.

Would this means that there are not programmers available for the 2011-2012 Rams? Without the programming mod it is really worth it to do the CAI and exhaust mods?

I ran 3" 40 series flowmasters on my 500 horse/525 ft lb of torque natrally aspirated, small block mopar drag car for a number of years.

They weren't over-restrictive for me.

compared to other exhausts and mufflers, flowmasters are known to be pretty restrictive and dont help out as much when it comes to performance. However they sound really good! My cousin used to have an older blazer with flowmasters that he sand dragged. It sounded very mean, but he said there was a noticable difference in performance once he switched to magnaflow. Dyno charts have also shown lots of flowmasters underperforming compared to other brands. However he sold it years back, and now he bought another one. Hes getting flowmasters again though.

No exhaust will really "add" any horsepower. They just help free up horsepower you already had that was being lost due to restrictive flow.
