Default Question about my truck height

I have noticed that next to some of the other Rams that mine sits higher and level. It's a 99 sport 4x4 and next to my friends 01 sport is several inches taller. Did they come with some type of factory lift? I see no proof it's got any aftermarket lift on it.

I don't think the Sport package did. The off-road set higher, obviously.
Did you buy yours new? If not, maybe the prior owner did a leveling kit or body lift? Have you peeked underneath to see what she's got?
What about tire size? Are you guys both running same size?

And I picked it up used last month . saw it for sale had to have it!! The only issue I have had is I can feel a slight thump in the steering wheel when I stop or take off, not all the time and I cant hear it just feel it in the wheel

A friend of mine had a 98 or 99 that sat a little taller....I can't remember for sure but it seems to me he said something about a snow plow option.

The sport model for the 4x4s is the same thing as the offroad model.
My truck is a 2wd with the Sport model, so it sits the same as any other 2wd truck.
On the 4x4s, the sport model added a little bit of factory lift, and was called the offroad model.
(This is only for the 2nd gens, though)

Your truck will sit 2 or 3 inches or so higher than a normal 4x4 model.
If you go to lift it in the future and use a suspension lift, keep in mind that the amount it will be lifted will be less than advertised by 2 or 3 inches or so.

Thanks Dodgeguy! I have noticed a bump in my steering wheel when I stop and take off, it's like something has slack or shifts slightly any ideas No noise just something I'm feeling in the wheel.

Good info. I didn't realize on the gen 2's that the sport and off-road were the same models. Sorry about that.
